Objectives
demonstrate an understanding of appropriate planning tools and techniques in a variety ofsituations;
analyse the relationship between strategic planning and the success of an organization;
analyse how companies respond to internal and external pressures for change;
demonstrate the use of appropriate communication techniques related to business management.
 
Instructions
Students are to read over the case study, “IKEA: SWOT planning and sustainable business planning” and answer the four questions at the end of the case study IN COMPLETE SENTENCES IN THEIR OWN WORDS on a separate sheet of paper.
 
Students will then select ONE of the following Canadian businesses and prepare a SWOT analysis for their chosen business by RESEARCHING and filling in the attached sheet. The points in the sheet should clearly and thoroughly explain the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats faced by their chosen business. Students should use in-text citations and, at the end of the sheet, include the MLA citation of at least TWO resources they consulted when filling in the sheet.
