After a close reading of Jefferson – discuss what aspects of his writings you found surprising or enlightening. Offer 1 direct quote (properly formatted) that you feel offers an interesting point for further analysis.
IR paragraph 2
Considering the Federalist papers were published as pieces in newspapers, written by prominent lawyers, and meant to persuade readers of the merits of the Constitution, what do you feel is especially insightful in terms of allaying trepidations associated with, or bolstering the argument for, the Constitution? Moreover, how do you feel written efforts like this help shape the character of what it means to be an American?

Follow the same directions as DB4 regarding the number of PR responses.
IR prompt: = 2 paragraphs total (1 = compare (similarities)) (1 = contrast (differences))
Compare/contrast 2 different (textbook) authors from unit 1 (your choice) per paragraph. You can choose to focus on tone, content, style, or theme. Students can choose to focus on the same two authors for both paragraphs, or make different selections for each. Please make it clear at the outset of each paragraph which term will serve as the focus. Simply using the word “tone” in one of the first couple of sentences, for example, would be fine.
Careful not to over quote as your voice should always be the most prominent, but some textual support is always a helpful when discussing literature.
