Human Computer Interaction and Design Process
Some of the ways in which working practices may change as a result of introducing new technology include:
Job content: who does what, when, how, and how much as computers make things more formal rather than less formal.
Personnel policies: probably as a result of changes to job content (confidentiality of information for example)
Job satisfaction: motivation control, financial and other rewards, learning new skills
Power and influence: This may shift between individuals or groups.
Working environment: changes in space and equipment allocation
What reactions and attitudes can be observed when social aspects change at the workplace as a result of work practices and new computer technology? What does the information worker have to consider in terms of accepting new technology and how is his/her success measured?
For SLP 2, students will choose one of the following options to deliver their SLP assignment.
A written MS-Word paper consisting of 2 to 3 pages (excluding cover page and references).

Critical thinking: The paper incorporates your reactions, examples, and applications of the material to business and illustrates your reflective judgment and good understanding of the concepts. It is important to read the “Required Reading” in the background material plus other sources you find relevant.
Breadth and depth: You provide informed commentary and analysis—simply repeating what your sources say does not constitute an adequate paper. The scope covered in your paper is directly related to the questions of the assignment and the learning outcomes of the module.
Overall quality: You apply the professional language and terminology of systems design and analysis correctly and in context; you are familiar with this language and use it appropriately. Your paper is well written and the references, where needed, are properly cited and listed. (Refer to the APA Purdue Online Writing Lab at
