Purpose
To assess your ability to discuss the purpose and rationale for diversion programs.
Overview
In this assignment, you are required to explain the purpose of diversion in corrections. You will also
select a diversion program and discuss its strengths and weaknesses, and whether the program is
successful or unsuccessful.
You are to create a posting to the discussion, “Diversion in Corrections”, and then respond to at least
two of your classmates’ postings. For you to have ample time to read your classmates’ postings and
respond to them, your initial post must be completed by Wednesday while your follow-up to your
classmate’s posting must be completed by Sunday.
To successfully complete the assignment, you are expected to read and study key points and all
assigned readings for this week. It is also highly recommended that you familiarize yourself with the
grading criteria provided. The grading criteria contain information on how your assignment will be
graded by your professor. Ensure you cover all relevant information expected of you in the
assignment.

Explain why you believe the program is either successful or unsuccessful.
3. By Wednesday at 11:59 PM ET, post your initial response on the discussion topic,
“Diversion in Corrections”. Go to the Toolbox and click Discuss to display the discussion tool

4. Read your classmates’ postings.
5. Respond to at least two of your classmates’ postings by Sunday at 11:59 PM ET.
